Roy Waydelle Hill

Waydelle Hill was a coach, educator, family man and believer. He passed away with family surrounding him, including his wife of 44 years, Ann.

Waydelle was raised in Morton, TX. After graduating as a four-sport letterman from Morton HS, he attended both Hardin-Simmons and Howard Payne Universities, where he earned his BS and ME. He started his career as a teacher/coach in Childress, Munday and Abernathy schools. He worked the majority of his career at H-E-B ISD as a math teacher/coach at L.D. Bell HS and assistant principal at Hurst Jr. High and Central Jr. High. He was principal of Central Junior High for 24 years. He received several accolades such as Outstanding Principal and Distinguished Educator awards. He was inducted into the H-E-B Sports Hall of Fame in 2011.

After retiring in 1991, and moving to Granbury, Texas, Waydelle enjoyed playing golf. He had three hole-in-ones after retiring. They also vacationed each summer in Ruidoso, NM where he worked as a marshal at a golf course. He was an active member of St. Laurence Church in Southlake. Everyone who knew him enjoyed his stories and wonderful sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Willie Beatrice Hill and his sister Peggy Hill Been. Waydelle is survived by his wife Ann, children Scott Hill (and wife Missy), Taylor Hill (and wife Marilyn), Jill Morrow Webb (and husband Bill) and Molly Morrow Moses. Grandchildren include Heath (and wife Shannon) and Seth (and wife Kelly) Rexroad, Clayton (and wife Lexi), Hayden and Brandon Webb, Elizabeth and Brooke Moses, and Taylor (and wife Brandi) and Alex (and wife Kelsey). Great-grandchildren are Shannon (Rin), Riley Kia, and Ronan Rexroad and Jaxon, Damon, Elaina and Isabelle Hargrove. He will be greatly missed.
