Roy Lenere Lyon Jr. passed away at home on Tuesday, January 9, 2018.
A funeral service will take place 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road in Hurst.
Roy was born to Roy Lenere Sr. and Alma Ruth Lyon on June 30, 1942. Roy was preceded in death by both parents and sisters, Nancy and Susie.
Survivors include his wife Emma , brothers Robert and Jim; sister Betty, daughter Sonia Witt, stepsons Daniel, David and Dale; granddaughter's, Amanda, Kristi and Robin; grandsons Mark and Justin; great-grandson Carson; great-granddaughter's Madeline, Mackenzie and Kameryn; and his beloved dog Stella.
Roy was not a blood father and grandfather to some of his relatives, however blood was not an indicator of how he treated them. He was truly a father and grandfather to many, and many treated him like a true father and grandfather. That is who he was. Throughout his life and up to his final moment he always put others first.
He always wanted his loved ones to be happy, and despite how heartbroken those close to him are about his passing, he succeeded in leaving many good memories behind in many hearts.
He will be dearly missed.
