Roy Lee Mitchell, Jr., 74, of Burleson passed away, Wednesday, January 18, 2018.
Funeral Service: 10 a.m. Friday, January 26, 2018 at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Burleson. Visitation: 6 pm to 8 pm Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Lucas and Blessing Funeral Home. Interment: 1 p.m. at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery. (Lane 1)
Roy was born to Roy Lee Mitchell, Sr. and Martha Julia Lambert Mitchell on November 9, 1943 in Fort Worth. He worked for the USPS as a manager for 37 years, retiring from there. In his early years he was a member of the Polytechnic High School (Poly Parrots) marching band where he played the Cornet. He was also a disc jockey in Cleburne for KCLE and Fort Worth for KPLX.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Lee Mitchell, Sr. and Martha Julia Lambert Mitchell and brother, Rennie Joe Nathan.
Survivors: Wife, Debra Mitchell; sons, Roy Lee Mitchell III. and wife, Pam of Fort Worth, Robert Terrell Mitchell and wife, Kelly of Elizabeth, CO; daughter, Martha Elizabeth Khayyat, and husband, Bilal of Pasco, WA; step-sons, Anthony Michael Disario of San Diego, CA, John Paul Remacle of Arlington and 7 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
