Beloved matriarch, Ruth Cahall, passed away peacefully at the age of 100. She was born in Rogers, TX on October 15th, 1924 and passed away on April 10th, 2025.
She was known by many titles, such as wife, mother, Mamaw, Aunt Pell, sister, and friend. A century of wisdom, warmth, and resilience marked her journey, and her legacy lives on in those she touched.
She graduated from Hearne High School and received an Associate’s Degree. She worked at a bank in Hurst while her children were growing up. She ultimately found her calling as a nursing home administrator for 50 years, which she not only loved, but was known for. She was very involved in the Hurst community, along with all of the things that Chuck and Cyndi were a part of.
Ruth was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 56 years, Charlie, and two beloved children, Cyndi and Chuck. Though she endured profound loss, she carried herself with grace and strength, continuing to be a source of love and support for her family, friends, and all that knew her.
She leaves behind two grandchildren, Candice and Charles “Bear”, three great-grandchildren, Cayden, Emily, and Kelton, and one great-great grandchild, Scarlett. Each of those, a testament to the enduring spirit and kindness that defined her life. Ruth’s family was the heart of her world, and she took immense pride in the children and grandchildren she helped raise, but also in every one else she met along the way.
Ruth was known for the special love, patience, and care she showed to her family in every way. She loved nothing more than showing compassion and care for those around her. Also, she loved to feed any and all with her amazing cooking and baking. She was our number one, as we were to her, as well as our hero.
Those who knew Ruth will remember her for her unwavering compassion, gentle humor, and quiet strength. Her wisdom, stories, and unconditional love will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
