Ryan was born December 12, 1983, in North Richland Hills, Texas to Mario Messina and Jennifer Powell Messina. He attended school in Grapevine, TX and Howe, TX. He was an avid athlete in school playing football, baseball and soccer. He loved watching sports with his dad growing up and recently with his son Jordan. His children: Chy’Ann, Jordan and Bonnie and his extended family were his greatest treasure.
Ryan served his country in the Army National Guard from Oct. 1, 2009- Aug. 13, 2010. He served overseas in Iraq. Ryan was an expert marksman and had earned the rank of Specialist when he was Honorably Discharged. He was always very humble about his time in the service.
Ryan helped coach each of his children’s soccer teams at one time or another. He was always a very vocal presence on the sidelines whether he was the official coach or not.
Ryan loved to cook and was known to often add his own special twists to tried and true family recipes. His specialty is his Secret twist to the family spaghetti recipe.
Ryan worked at GMET Communications where he had many friends and co-workers across the country.
Ryan was preceded in death by his father, Mario: grandparents Joe and Bette Messina and Lewis and Kay Powell.
Survivors: Children: Chy’Ann Trevino, Jordan Messina, and Bonnie Messina. Mother, Jennifer Messina and brother Michael Messina. Grandmother, Grace Messina. Uncle Sam Messina and wife Lee Ann. Aunts Cyndi Powell, Judy and husband, Nancy Lecroix and husband Bill, Mary Sides and husband Kelly. Many cousins and families as well as a large extended family and circle of friends and co-workers.
