S C Myers Jr

S C "Buster" Myers Jr., 90, passed away peacefully of natural causes during the evening of Monday, August 24, 2015, in Fort Worth, Texas comforted by his wife and family members.

He was born to Tempie Lorena and S C Myers on September 12, 1924 in Temple, Texas. S C Graduated from Era High School in Era, Texas in 1941. He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II, stationed at Scott Field in Illinois from 1942 to 1945. He married Barbara Ann McKinley on July 13, 1945 in Scottsville, Illinois. They recently celebrated their 70th anniversary.

After being discharged from the service, they moved to Lubbock, Texas where he went to work for McKinley Plumbing and then later Comfort Heating and Air. He retired as President of Area Builders Inc. in Odessa, TX after 27 years. After retirement, he and his wife moved to Hemphill, Texas where they lived in a house on Toledo Bend Reservoir. While living in Hemphill he taught a Sunday school class every Sunday morning at a local campground for anyone who wanted to attend. They moved to Fort Worth, Texas to be closer to their daughter, Margie, where they have lived for the past 2 years.

In his younger years he enjoyed fishing and hunting during his spare time. He loved watching old westerns. He would watch them over and over, but to him they were new each time. He loved to upgrade and added-on to every home he owned.

S C was preceded in death by his parents Tempie Lorena and S C Myers; and by siblings Floyd Eugene Myers, Lura Faye Hoel, Carl Raymond "Cotton" Myers, and Mary Elan Windisch.

S C is survived by his wife Barbara Ann, by his sister Martha Nell McClarty, by his daughter Margie Myers Allen and husband Eddie, and his son S C Myers III and wife Georgia Elizabeth. He is also survived by four grandchildren Kris Ann Allen, Amy Lynn Allen Watson, Sarah Elizabeth Myers Miller and husband Scott, Laura Beth Allen Jobe and husband Arthur; and eight great-grandchildren Alexis Faith Watson, Jordan Danielle Watson, Emma Elizabeth Miller, Logan Lee Watson, Scarlett Isabella Jobe, GracieAnne Elizabeth Miller, Madison Leah Jobe, and Ethan Elijah Jobe.

A service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, August 29 at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller, Texas with a viewing one hour prior.

Burial will be at 11am Monday, August 31 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, with military honors. Please meet in Lane "A" by 10:45 am.
