Sadie Jim Allen (Standley)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sadie Jim Standley of Justin, a beloved mother, daughter, and cherished friend, who left us on January 21, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on March 24, 1941, in Lubbock, Texas, Sadie was a bright light in the lives of those who had the privilege to know her.

Sadie was an indomitable spirit with a warmth that embraced all who crossed her path. She dedicated her professional life to the field of accounting, serving as an office manager with grace and competence. While she pursued college credit and gained invaluable experience, it was her innate talent for organization and her caring nature that truly set her apart.

Sadie was preceded in death by her loving mother, Lila Proctor Allen, her father, James Wesley Allen, David Marshall Gillett, Luther T. Standley, Timothy Standley.

She is survived by her children, Deborah Trout and husband Ric, Terry Gillett and wife Trenna, Scott Gillett and wife Elaine, Lora Standley; grandchildren, Brody, Cody and Amber Gillett, Wesley Trout, Jason Gillett and wife Madison, Jessica Akin (Gillett) and husband Rowdy Akin, Kasey Fry and wife Janie, Josh Standley; great grandchildren, Kinsley Ruth Akin, Indie Kate Gillett, Quincy Taramona, Jackson Fry.

In remembrance of Sadie, visitation services will be held at the Lucas Funeral Home on January 31, 2025, at 6:00 PM. Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life, sharing cherished memories and stories that reflect the joy she brought to our lives. 

As we prepare to say goodbye, let us carry forward the lessons Sadie taught us—of compassion, perseverance, and the importance of family. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will forever resonate in our hearts. Rest in peace, dear Sadie; you will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
