Sally Faye (Day) Caplinger

Sally Faye Caplinger, age 77, of Mansfield, Texas passed away peacefully on July 18, 2020. She was born on January 10, 1943 in Texarkana, Texas to the late Mary F. (Hall) Day and Horace A. Day.

She was a former member of St. James Episcopal Church in Texarkana. She was a former Miss Texarkana contestant in the early 60’s and had the opportunity to perform as a talented pianist. Sally had a Masters Degree in Mathematics and was a devoted school teacher. She taught AP Calculus at L.D. Bell High School for 30 years, 29 of those years in the same classroom. Sally was an avid golfer and she and her husband, Jerry were current members of Walnut Creek Country Club in Mansfield. She also loved her animals, growing roses, and was an accomplished quilter.

She is survived by her loving husband of over 40 years, Jerry T. Caplinger of Mansfield along with her former student, extended family members and a host of friends.

A private visitation will be held at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst with additional visitation being held at Texarkana Funeral Home in Texarkana, Texas at 10:00 A.M., Friday, July 24, 2020 with graveside service at 1:00 P.M. at Woodman Cemetery in De Kalb, Texas.
