Samuel "Bo" Joseph Mings, Jr. went to Heaven on September 15, 2017 after a brave battle against cancer. He was born on February 2, 1968 to Samuel and Sharon Mings, Sr. of Hurst, Texas, USA.
He and his father answered the call to begin Lay Witnesses for Christ International, where he served as Chairman Emeritus of Christian outreach, sharing Christ with athletes and equipping them to utilize their platforms to reach youth. The ministry began in their backyard. Today LWFCI is operative in 81 countries and during the Olympic Games, millions have responded to the presentation of the Gospel . The ministry has completed 79 Major Outreaches and 28 Christian Athlete Awards for Texas.
Additionally, Bo worked at Microsoft for 21 years, after which time he began his own software training company, Office Mindshare. His passion was bringing out the best in every person and every situation he encountered. He was generous, creative, fun, compassionate, and always thought of others first.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of 28 years, Margie Mings, and his four children, Carlye, Joseph, Sophie, and Benjamin. He is survived by his parents, his two sisters, Tammy Mings and Teena Alders, and numerous nephews and nieces. He has gone before us; let us follow him there.
