Samuel Jefferson Hawthorne Gilbert, 20, of Keller, Texas passed away December 23, 2019 in Keller.
He will always be remembered as a loving son, brother and friend.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Saturday at Trinity Presbyterian Church 1452 West Southlake Blvd, Southlake, Texas. Burial will follow at Bourland Cemetery, Keller. Visitation will be 5-7 pm Friday at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller, Texas.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ducks Unlimited and the Shriners Children’s Hospital burn unit.
Sam was born September 24, 1999 in Hermitage, Tennessee to Chris and Julie Ann Church Gilbert. He was a 2018 graduate of Keller High School. Sam was a sophomore at Texas A&M University in Kingsville, Texas. He was pursuing a degree in agribusiness and ranch management. Sam was passionate about the outdoors, hunting, fishing and music.
He is survived by his father, Chris Gilbert and stepmom Dawn Gilbert of Keller; mother, Julie Ann Church of Wichita Falls; sister, Piper Gilbert of Keller; grandparents, Niley and Marilyn Church of Wichita Falls; grandmother, Sandra Rhine of Burkburnett; aunts, Shelli Gossett, Shalae Mays and Candra Gilbert Solid. Numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Sam was love, joy and light. He touched every life he met. He was so loved.
