Samuel Joseph Wilson

Samuel Joseph Wilson "Sam" , age 60, of Southlake, Texas passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2019.
Memorial Services will be held 2:00pm, Saturday, October 12th at Lucas Funeral Home, Grapevine, Texas. Expressions of sympathy may be made to GoFundMe page for Sam Wilson. Please no flowers.
Sam was born in Baltimore, Maryland on March 16, 1959 to LeRoy Wilson and Sandra Heller. He was the number one grandchild of Ruth and Joseph Heller. In 1978 he married his best friend, Carol Berge. Sam's job took him across the country. During their time in Arvada, Colorado, he became a very loving father to Samantha Jean and Adam Philip Roy Wilson. They currently reside in Southlake, Texas for the past 24 years.
Sam was a member of the finance community and earned the title of Vice-President. Here he mentored and developed many life long friends.
His love of sports led him to be a member of the Southlake Booster Club. He continued to support the Carroll Dragons, even through his illness. Both him d his wife loved sports and continued supporting their hometown teams as well as Maryland and Texas professional teams.
Sam attended Mount Saint Josephs College and graduated in 1976. While in high school he played football for the Gaels.
He was a pet lover and adopted many needy animals in his lifetime. His wonderful loving personality and kindness led to a very fulfilling life for the entire Wilson family.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Sandy and Roy Wilson; stepfather, Frank Jirecek and younger brother, Michael.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Carol Berge Wilson; daughter, Samantha Jean Wilson; son, Adam Philip Roy Wilson;grandmother, Ruth Heller, who turns 100 in November; loving sister, Kelly Wilson Goodrich and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. We will all miss the "Mooch."
