Loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Mother-in-Law, and Sister.
Sara Gomez departed this earth to be in the heavens above on Monday, December 28th, 2020, due to a battle she was no longer able to fight because of COVID.
Born on May 14th, 1953, and raised in San Patricio County, Texas in a small town called Sinton. She was the daughter to parents Mary Martinez and Filberto De Los Santos; and sister to Guadalupe Esparza, Virginia Miller, Jose De Los Santos, Pete De Los Santos, Ben Briones +, Augroda Garcia + and Luis De Los Santos +. She had her oldest child with Miguel Alaniz, then down the road in 1973 she met her first husband, Ruben Posada, whom she had four additional children with.
Sara loved spending her time with her youngest grandson, Junior, and two of her great-grandchildren, Valentina and Vicktor. She especially loved playing Loteria with the family, she was of course always winning. She enjoyed going to the casinos and the bingo hall. She adored making her children happy and making sure they always had a smile on their face. One of her best things to make were tortillas, which were amazing especially since they were always made with love. She was very loving and had a silly sense of humor.
Sara is survived by her children, Michael Alaniz, Mary Posada, Nicky Gonzalez, Ruben Posada, Jr, and Salvador Posada. She was blessed with twenty-three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, all whom she dearly loved.
She had lived in Texas all of her life until moving to Washington almost two years ago to be with her loving daughter whom she came to care for during her time in need. During her years in Washington, she was deeply loved and very happy. She was always full of happiness and laughs. At the time of her passing she was divorced but was always devoted to her children. She will be dearly missed.
“We thought of you today but that is nothing new. We thought about you yesterday and days before that too. We think of you in silence, we often speak your name. Now all we have are memories and your picture in a frame. Your memory is our keepsake, with which we’ll never part. God has you in his keeping, we have you in our hearts.”
