Our world was changed for the better on January 11,1964. Sara Atchley Wierman was born to Darrell and Fran Atchley in Lovington, New Mexico and began her life making a difference to everyone with whom she came in contact. Sara was the big sister to Bart who tragically passed away when she was 6. She spent her childhood in her birthplace building lifelong friendships that still flourish today. She graduated from Lovington High School in 1982 and then moved to the Metroplex attending Texas Christian University in Ft. Worth. Sara was a member of Chi Omega sorority while at TCU and added to her circle of friends that she loved dearly.
While at TCU she met the love of her life, Troy, who became her husband September 5, 1987. Sara and Troy were blessed with 30 years together showing the world what a Christ-centered marriage was intended to be. They were blessed with two boys, Dane and Cole, whom she loved fiercely and she partnered with Troy in raising them to be men of God.
Sara was a Doctor of Chiropractic but not just your average chiropractor. She took time treating the whole person and lovingly poured into each patient’s life. This carried over into God’s calling to help others journey through illness, as a 17 year breast cancer survivor, she encouraged others through their battle.
Sara was always reading and listening to the Lord as to how to make the world a better place. She founded Ten for Him which organized people to give impacting lives all around the world in the name of Jesus. She took great joy in hearing the stories from the groups around the world.
The world is a better place because of Sara Atchley Wierman. It could have been a word of encouragement, her radiant smile, or a practical joke she played that brought you joy. Whatever it is, smile as we give thanks for a life well lived. After a six month battle with ovarian cancer, Sara ran into the arms of her loving Savior on May 15, 2018.
Arrangements for Sara Wierman are under the direction of Lucas Funeral Home, Grapevine.
