Sarah Jane (Hinkle) Null of Haltom City, a wonderful mother and devoted grandmother and great-grandmother, passed from this life through the Pearly Gates of Heaven in the early morning on December 16, 2022.
A lifelong resident of the Fort Worth area, Sarah Jane was born on August 30, 1937 to the late Dorothy Ann (Allen) Hinkle and Lester Hinkle, and after her father’s passing was looked after by her Uncle William “Dub” Waddell. She graduated from Fort Worth Polytechnic High School and shortly thereafter married Leon B. Null, the love of her life, on July 14, 1955. The couple bought their dream home in Haltom City and adopted two daughters who quickly became their pride and joy. Sarah worked for Southwestern Bell and then AT&T for over 30 years until her retirement, which lasted longer than her employment. In her spare time, she enjoyed swimming and doting on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, taking every opportunity she could to spoil them by stuffing them with her famous peanut butter fudge. Sarah was a member of the Haltom City Christian Church for over 50 years, only leaving to join family at Ark of Faith in North Richland Hills.
On hand in Heaven to welcome Sarah to eternity were her parents and her loving husband of 66 years.
Family left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Laura Perry and husband, Butch; and Lisa Pinney and husband, Doug Shockey; her cousin (brother) Dan Waddell and wife Paula; grandchildren Stephanie (Calvin) Wright, Brittany (Jason) Collins, Tim (Courtney) Pinney, Tom Pinney, Tobias (Tiffany) Pinney, and D’Ann (Sean) Fletcher; great grandchildren Lexi, Sunny, Remi, Lilly, Rosie, and Sammy; and numerous beloved family and friends.
A visitation for friends, acquaintances, and family will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, December 22, 2022 also at Lucas Funeral Home with Rev Scott Chambers and Rev. Clarence Huffman officiating.
