Wayne Scott "Scotty" Lanier
Scotty Lanier passed peacefully in his sleep on December 6, 2022 at the age of 85. Friends and family will miss his quick wit and kind heart. He will be remembered with love.
Scotty was a chemical engineer for Union Carbide who spent the majority of his career in Victoria and Houston, Texas. During his time in Victoria, he was an active member of Grace Presbyterian Church. Scotty was also an avid fisherman and enjoyed traveling, camping and bowling.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Linda Clare Lanier.
He is survived by his son, Steven Lanier, daughter in-law, Kathy Lanier and only granddaughter, Avery Lanier, stepmother, Evelyn Lanier; siblings, Gari Lanier; Christy Lanier Attwood and husband Randy Attwood; Cynthia Lanier and husband Jan Jernberg; Derris Lanier and wife Beverly Lanier. His surviving extended family includes Betty Clare and his nieces Michele Clare; Allison Clare Andrews, husband Mark and daughter Taylor Shekarabi; Shannon Carlisle Oakes, husband Steve and sons Wilson, Weston, and Wyndon; Heather Clare, fiancé Michael Schreiber and daughters Kennedy and Marley.
Scotty's memorial service will be held January 7, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Grace Presbyterian Church in Victoria, Texas. .
