In Loving Memory of Seth McCastlain

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the untimely passing of our beloved Seth Christian McCastlain, who left us far too soon at the young age of 18. Seth departed this world on October 7, 2023, in Roanoke, Texas leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and memories that will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Seth was born on December 14, 2004, to his loving parents, Mark and Christy McCastlain in Dallas, Texas. From the moment he entered this world, his infectious smile and authentic personality warmed the hearts of the people that were fortunate enough to know him well. His early years were spent in the White Rock Lake area and in 2007 the McCastlain family made Keller, Texas their home where Seth attended school and graduated with the class of 2023 from Keller High School.

A lover of music, Seth loved to entertain those around him with his musical talents. Seth was an avid pianist and could play almost any melody by ear, this was also apparent during karaoke nights with his friends, family and community. Seth was employed at Black Walnut Cafe in Colleyville, Texas. His coworkers and regular patrons knew they could count on Seth’s responsible work ethic to show up on time and excel at his job with his great attitude and witty sense of humor.

Seth had an adventurous spirit, finding a sense of freedom on his skateboard. He had a deep love for the outdoors. He enjoyed countless hours of fishing around Keller and Palo Pinto Lake where he and friends and family shared many holidays and weekends together. He also loved spending time with his friends, enjoying every moment no matter what the activity, whether it was riding bikes, scooters, skateboarding, snowboarding, making music or playing video games with each other. He had an incredibly quick wit and a heart that overflowed with compassion. He had a knack for making people laugh, easing their burdens, and lifting their spirits, even in the most challenging of times. His friends and family could always count on him for a helping hand and a shoulder to lean on.

Seth McCastlain is survived by his loving parents, Mark and Christy McCastlain, his older brother, Drew McCastlain, along with his grandparents, Donna and Weldon Wolfe, Stanley and Sharon Byrd, Kenny and Madonna McCastlain, his great grandmother Helen Howell, his aunt Cheryl Ratliff, his aunt and uncle Traci and Nigel Henley, and cousins Colton Ratliff, Codi Ann Ratliff, Morgan Henley, and Kaden Henley. He is also remembered by several step uncles, aunts, cousins and great aunts and uncles as well a host of other extended relatives, friends, and classmates whose lives were touched by his presence.

A Celebration of Life will be held on October 13, 2023 at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst, Texas at 3:00 p.m. where we will come together to honor Seth and share the love and memories he brought into our lives. If you would like to choose a donation in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to charities close to Seth's heart, such as the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the American Diabetes Association, in hopes of carrying forward his spirit of generosity and compassion.

Seth left this world far too early, but he will forever live on in our hearts, in the stories we share, and in the laughter and love that he brought into our lives. Though he is no longer with us, his memory will continue to inspire us to live life to the fullest, to be kind, and to treasure the time we have with our loved ones.

Rest in eternal peace, dear Seth. You will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
