Shane B. Murphy

Shane Murphy - beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024 at the age of 96. Shane was born on February 11, 1928 to Thomas and Jessie Murphy in Montclair, New Jersey. He graduated from St. Lawrence University in 1950 and in 1952 married the late Phyllis Burritt. Their 68 years of life travels - which included Shane's military service as a Navy pilot in the Korean War - took them to Dallas, where they settled in 1964. Shane and Phyllis were very active at the Round Grove United Church of Christ and in numerous charitable causes in North Texas. After retiring from the successful business they built, Shane and Phyllis continued to dote over their family and extended family ... Shane all along putting on display his warm and clever wit. Shane was preceded in death by Phyllis and by his parents. He is survived by sons Malcolm Murphy and Shane Murphy (Denise), and daughter Marcia Fisher (Mike), his five beloved grandchildren, Elizabeth Fredericks (Andy), Traci Long (Matt), Les Murphy, Kip Reiserer and Caitlin Noe (Ben) along with his adoring great-grandchildren Carson, Tyler, Jimmy, Steven, Caden, and Zoe. A private burial is planned. Donations in the name of Shane Murphy can be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
