Sharon Eileen Boots

May 26, 1944 — January 4, 2025

Sharon Eileen Boots of Keller, Texas, went home to be with our Lord on January 4,2025 while surrounded by her loving family. Death takes the body. God welcomes the soul. Our mind holds the memories. Our heart keeps the love. Our faith lets us know we will meet again.

Sharon was born on May 26, 1944, in LeMars, Iowa, to Richard and Burnita (Dorr) Drefke. She spent her childhood living in the town of Marcus, Iowa, growing up on the family farm, and being active in church, school, and sports. In 1963, she married her grade-school sweetheart, Jerry Boots. Together, they embarked on a lifelong adventure that would take them across the country and around the world. In addition to raising three sons, Sharon worked outside the home -- with the American Red Cross, with a real estate company, and as an elementary school library aide and assistant teacher. A loyal friend to many, she loved tennis and golf, singing in church and community choirs, cooking and baking for family and friends, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Along with their three sons, Sharon and Jerry traveled the country and the world – exploring unique places, embracing the cultures of their new surroundings, and building lifelong friendships that lasted for decades. Married for more than 55 years, they lived in Iowa, Illinois, Tennessee, California, Texas, Arizona, South Korea and Saudi Arabia and traveled to dozens more countries for work and fun. After Jerry's death in 2019, Sharon moved to Texas in 2022 to be near her children, grandchildren, and her first great- granddaughter.

Sharon will be greatly missed by her sons and their wives Jeff and Rhonda, Brian and Cathy, and Michael and Shelley; her cherished grandchildren Savannah and her husband David, Tristin and his wife Madison, Zachary, Carlin, and Owen; and her great- granddaughter Grace; her brothers David Drefke and his wife Bev, and Dean Drefke; her sister Evelyn Rasmussen and her husband Norm; and Jerry's brother Denny Boots and his wife Deb.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Milestone Church in Keller at 10am. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to the neonatal unit at Children’s Health of North Texas at https://donate.childrens.com/sharonboots.
