KELLER -- Sharon Lynn Macko passed away at the age of 54 on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012. Funeral: 3 p.m. Wednesday at Lucas Funeral Home, 137 E. Hill St., Keller. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. She was born May 4, 1958, in Lubbock. Sharon graduated from Arlington Heights High School in Fort Worth in 1976, where she broke many city records in competitive swimming. In 1984, Sharon completed her bachelor of science in nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington. Sharon was very passionate about her nursing career. Although the majority of her career specialized in labor and delivery, she also put her skills to work by volunteering her time to those in need as she did when she traveled to Houston to assist Hurricane Katrina evacuees. Throughout her life, Sharon preferred to spend her time enjoying the simple things. Her warm, caring, selfless demeanor touched all of those who surrounded her. Sharon chose to spend most of her time with her family. She loved to entertain and take care of those around her. Survivors: Her son, Brian Collins and his wife, Tiffany Collins; daughter, Daley Long and her husband, Mike Long; grandchildren, Maranda Long, Audrey Collins, Blake Long and Colt Collins; mother, Marilyn Anderson; sister, Cindy Reynolds and husband, Dan Reynolds; and brother, Stephen Anderson and wife, Terese Anderson.
