Shelly Bob McConnell was taken to be with the Lord on Friday, July 3, 2015.
Celebration of life: 2 p.m. Saturday, July 11, at Lucas Funeral Home in Grapevine.
Shelly was born in Fort Worth on Oct. 20, 1968. He served in the U.S. Army from 1988 to 1994, it was from this he developed a love for military history. He was employed by Peterbilt of Denton for the last four years. During this time, he made many wonderful friends who will tell you, you never had to wonder what was on Shelly's mind.
Shelly was always there for anyone who needed him. He could be anything, from an electrician to a mechanic. He loved to collect guns and shoot at targets with his son, Jacob. He spent a great deal of time with McKenzie and Cooper. Shelly was also a dog lover. He was loved by everyone he met.
Survivors: Shelly is survived by his wife, Gena McConnell; son, Jacob Cornish-McConnell; parents, John and Shelia of Denton; stepsons, Devon and Brendon Potter; grandchildren, Hayden and London White, and Dallas and Bentley Potter; brother, twin and partner in crime, John Kelly McConnell of Grapevine; sister, Sherrie Stevens and husband, J.R., and their children, McKenzie and Cooper, of Denton.
