Sherry Lyn Conant
Sherry Lyn Conant was a caring and loving mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She went to be with the Lord on July 31, 2022, at the age of 75.
She was born to Mildred and John Erwin, and had one sister Jeannie. She was a singer with a beautiful voice and was passionate about all kinds of music. Sherry lost her voice at a young age due to laryngeal cancer, which she beat. She turned this misfortune into an opportunity for good by counseling other laryngectomees and speaking in schools about the dangers of secondhand smoke. She always said she looked forward to singing again with a choir of angels.
She loved socializing with family and friends, antiquing, shopping, and enjoying musical theater, symphony, bluegrass and opera performances. Friends and family describe Sherry as pure sunshine and the personification of love. She was a generous friend to all who crossed her path. She was a creative, fun-loving person who enjoyed crafts and travelling, Hawaii being a favorite destination.
She filled the home with music, love, laughter, and fun for her two daughters, Shellaine and Stacey, who were the pride of her life. More than a mother, she was a friend, and cherished the family trips she took with her daughters, sister and mother. A devoted sister to Jeannie Henry, they faithfully talked twice a day every day. She was a loving aunt and sister-in-law who never forgot a birthday or anniversary for all her nieces and nephew, and their children, and delighted in their love and accomplishments, often sending cards of encouragement or writing stories for the children.
Sherry did not want a funeral service but wished all to cherish their happy memories of her. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to one of her favorite charities: The American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
