Sheryl Ann Boszak, age 73, of Okemos, MI was called home to our Lord on Saturday, August 10th, 2024.
Sheryl was born February 9, 1951, in Belleville, MI to the late Felix (Bud) and Helen Feitel. She was the third born of six children, preceded in death by George Feitel and survived by Frederick Feitel (Elaine Orr), Karen Hinkle (Jim), Leonard Feitel (Susan), and Mark Feitel (Ann). Sheryl was a devoted spouse, strong and loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Gary Boszak, whom she married in December of 1972, their three daughters Bonnie Baumann (Phil), Carolyn Boszak (Anthony Leone), and Kathleen Oldham (Rob), and three grandchildren Mason, Addilynn, and Julia Oldham.
Sheryl was a dedicated and compassionate nurse, graduating from Madonna College in 1974. After working at several hospitals, she spent her last 27 years working as a maternity nurse at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan, retiring in 2017. Sheryl was an avid reader, enjoyed watching movies, playing cards, making crafts and fresh green arrangements, baking Christmas cookies, tasting local wines, shopping, and enjoying time with friends and family. Sheryl enjoyed visiting the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village, frequently attending holiday and special events with family.
Sheryl and Gary have been members of St. Martha’s Parish since 1989. Vacationing was a cherished time for both, and when family was able to join, it was even more memorable. Some of their favorites include the Hawaiian Islands, West Palm Beach, Newport Beach, and Disney World. In 2023, they were blessed to take two trips to Hawaii and a tour of Ireland.
Sheryl put others first and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She was active in her children and grandchildren’s lives, volunteering and supporting every opportunity she could. Sheryl was loved by many and is greatly missed.
The family will be holding a memorial service in Keller, Texas on Saturday, August 17, 2024. If you would like to contribute, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer's Association in her honor.
