Shirley "Ann" Cash

April 14, 1935 — February 28, 2023

April 14th, 1935 – February 28, 2023
Bedford, TX
Shirley “Ann” Cash went to join her beloved husband, Bo, on Tuesday, February 28, 2023. She passed away with her son, Steve, at her bedside.
Born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Ann grew up primarily in the OKC area living in Kingfisher and Moore. She moved to Liberal, KS as a teenager and graduated from Liberal High School. Ann met the love of her life, Floyd Allen “Bo” Cash, while working as an administrative assistant for an oil drilling business. Bo asked the owner of the company to go to lunch one day and, thankfully, the boss declined and instead suggested he take “Sam”. Bo was pleasantly surprised when Sam (Shirley Ann Moore) came out of the office for lunch. Ann and Bo were married not long after and enjoyed 61 years together until Bo was called home. They moved several times during the first 10 years living in Liberal, KS, Ponca City, OK, Stillwater, OK and Tulsa, OK before settling in Hurst, Texas in ‘68 where they lived for the rest of their lives. They raised two children in Hurst, TX. Ann was known for hosting wonderful family gatherings with scavenger hunts, games for the five grandchildren, and yummy homemade dishes. Ann enjoyed being a homemaker, tending to her iris garden, and caring for her family and friends in so many ways.
Ann’s favorite vacations were trips to the beach, enjoying long days of sunshine and storytelling with friends and family. With plenty of special memories, Ann recalled that her most cherished times in life were the moments when Bo would come home from work, she would sit on their bed as he changed, and the two of them would just talk about life. Their friendship was her life’s most precious gift.
When Bo became ill with Alzheimer’s, Ann became his strongest advocate and caregiver. Ann devoted years to Bo’s daily care and happiness; and was a loving example of patience and loyalty. Even when his memory failed him, his eyes lit up each day when Ann walked in the room.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Allen “Bo" Cash, her sister, Joanne “Jo” Moore, her brother, Thomas Guy Moore, her mother, Lorreta Ann Bates (Cubbage), her father, Ivan Guy “Ike” Moore as well as other aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
Ann is survived by her son, Steven Allen Cash and wife Holly, her daughter, Stacy Layne Dodds and husband Steve, her five grandchildren, Devin Jean Daussat (Cash) and her husband Tony, Katelyn Elizabeth Davis (Cash) and her husband Bryan, Mallory Shea Zumbach (Dodds), Cash Allen Dodds and his wife MacKenzie and Grey Kyler Dodds and his wife Stefanie; and her seven great grandchildren, Sullivan Alan Daussat, Demi Jean Daussat, Norah Jane Davis, Sage Griffo Davis, Leon Bo Davis, Bram Arthur Zumbach and Georgia Kay Dodds.
A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to US Against Alzheimer’s.
