Simeon Eden McLean, Born on November 23 1957, to Daphne and Ivan Mclean
In Kingston Jamaica.
Simeon grew up in the Mountain View Vineyard Town area with mom and dad 6 brothers lots cousins aunts and uncles.
Simeon pledge Boy Scout of Kingston at early age. He talked about traveling the island of Jamaica as a Boy Scout, going on various churches that’s where he found his love of music and singing. Boy Scout structured his life.
Simeon loves music that was one of he favorite past time, along with playing football ( soccer) and dominos. He enjoys playing dominos he brag about being the champion of dominos. He has a trophy to remind us all.
Jamaica is home for Simeon, he loved everything Jamaican,The music , the beaches , the cool breeze, the hot sun, the food. Oh yes, the food. Simeon loves his cornmeal porridge with water crackers. He loved boiled dumplings,
He would say to his wife the next day “Hopie you a go fry mi the left over dumplings” (Jamaican accent) Barbra recall That was his favorite.
Simeon attended the Norman Gardens primary school, in Kingston Jamaica and then on to Crandall High.
Simeon further his education German school of Automotive where he earned his Automotive degree. Simeon was great Auto-mechanic he eventually open his shop.
In 1984 Simeon migrated to the United States to join his older brother Neville Mclean .
In a few years his eldest son Mahlon Mclean joined him in California. Simeon had three more children Jamila Mclean Porter, Imani Mclean Daniels and Matthew Mclean.
Simeon worked for American Airlines DFW for 24 years. Where he was employed until his illness and sucom to his death.
Simeon married Barbara Robinson Mclean 2017, they dated earlier years in Jamaica and reunited after over 30 years apart.
Simeon passed away at home on July 6, 2021 with his wife by his side.
Simeon is survived by his wife Barbara Mercedes Mclean; 4 children, Mahlon, Jamila, I mani and Matthew; 14 grandchildren; 6 brothers; lots of cousins; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; family and friends.
His mother Daphne Maude and father Ivan George Mclean preceded him in death.
Simeon you run a good race, you finish strong.
Oh death, where is sting.
Oh grave, where is your victory.
