June 8, 1980 — September 2, 2023

Sione “Mapu” Mapumeihengalu Heimuli, Jr. was born on June 8, 1980 in Redwood City, California. He was called to rest on September 2, 2023 at home in Euless, Texas at the age of 43 years old.

He loved all music, enjoyed singing, and karaoke. Known as the DJ at most family functions, he was the “life of the party.” His funny, witty personality made him a natural comedian who constantly delivered jokes, pranks, and “roasts” his family and close friends will miss. Mapu was a sports fan, especially of California Bay Area teams such as the San Francisco 49ers, Golden State Warriors, and the SF Giants. He was known for his fly fashion sense and his love for sneakers and hats.

While Mapu did not have children, he was an amazing uncle. He consistently supported, showed up and protected his cherished nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Joseph and Ma’ata Fetu’u; paternal grandfather Semisi Heimuli, and paternal grandmother Ani Uikilifi. Mapu is survived by his mother Anatasia Lassiter; father Sione Heimuli, Sr. and wife Lamakaina; siblings Akosita Lupe Lilomaiava and husband Ryan, Semisi James Heimuli, Joseph Fatai Heimuli, Jennifer Norene Heimuli, Lolina Heimuli Allen and husband Brian, Wayne Heimuli and wife Riley, Gabby Heimuli Robinson and husband Tray, Georgina Lassiter Fuahala and husband Sione; his precious nieces and nephews: Little Ryan, Peter, Aialaisa, Logan, Little Misi, Manitisa, Kenzie, Anastasia, Losela, Manase, Sidney, Connor, Celia, Cora, Kalea Rose, Elijah, Jack, Olivia, Eiti, Mele Unga, and Little Mapu; his great niece: Akosita Kimberly Lilomaiava; he is also survived by numerous aunts and uncles that grew up with and considered Mapu their special little brother.
