Stephanie was born in Fort Worth, Texas to Greg and Karen Wimmer on June 13, 1978. She spent her childhood years in Fort Worth, El Paso, Albuquerque, NM and Grapevine. She was a 1996 graduate of Grapevine High School as an honor student and attended Stephen F. Austin for a semester and The University of Texas before graduating from the University of New Mexico with a degree in Languages. She was fluent in Spanish and enjoyed conversing with native Spanish speaking peoples.
It was in Albuquerque where she developed a life-long passion for skiing. She felt most comfortable on or around the mountains. Later in her life she lived in Taos, NM where she found the mountains brought her peace and skiing brought her the thrill she required and so enjoyed.
In addition to skiing she enjoyed travel. She visited and explored well over 25 countries including Russia and Kyrgyzstan where she twice taught English as a Second Language. Before the inconvenience of earning a living interrupted her life, she never missed an opportunity to pack up and take an adventure somewhere near or far. Mostly far.
In Dallas she worked as an insurance adjuster for Gainsco. She developed several great friendships at work, and she will be missed by all who knew and cared for her. On her horizon somewhere was a return to the West and her beloved mountains and never ending runs down the hill.
Stephanie was predeceased by her mother, Karen Davis Wimmer, maternal grandparents James R. N. & Axie Davis, paternal grandparents Robert & Marion Wimmer, and step-mother, Patti Johnson Wimmer. She is survived by her father, Greg Wimmer and her brother, Ryan Wimmer as well as by her many uncles, aunts, and cousins whose company she so enjoyed. She will be missed greatly by her family and the many friends to whom she meant so much.
