Stephen Lance Pannell left this world peacefully and entered into Heaven on December 16, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Euless, Texas. The son of Leslie and Ruby Pannell, he was born in Hopkinsville, Kentucky on June 24th, 1946.
Steve served in the United States Army from 1966-1972 reaching the rank of E6 in the Bravo Company 3rd of the 8th 4th Infantry Division. He was a decorated Vietnam War veteran earning the Bronze Star of Valor for his bravery in the Battle of Dak To on Hill 724.
Steve had many passions and hobbies in life, including hunting, fishing, making custom knives, motorcycles, fast cars, horses, flying model airplanes, and just about anything he could build or make by hand. He was a talented career mechanical engineer and was known for his intelligence, wit, and his sense of humor. He could light up any room and touched almost everyone he met.
He is survived by his loving wife, Angie, son Bryan Lance, daughter in law Courtney, brother Lyndell, sister in law Karen, niece Amy, nephew Timothy, and grandchildren Marissa, Joey, and Tony and his two beloved dogs, Jasper and Jesse.
A viewing service to celebrate Steve’s life will be held on December 20th, 2024 at Lucas Funeral Home, located at 1321 Precinct Line Road in Hurst, Texas 76053. Friends and family are invited to attend and pay their respects. Rest in peace, dear Steve. Your memory will live on in our hearts forever.
