COLLEYVILLE -- Steve Barnhart, 68, passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015.
Memorial service: 1 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church of Keller. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst.
Steve was born Feb. 12, 1947, in Dallas to the late Lawrence and Joy Barnhart. He graduated in 1965 from W.W. Samuell High School in Dallas. Steve proudly served in Vietnam with the U.S. Army, 101st Airborne Division, where he received many awards including the Bronze Star for heroism. He had a passion for all animals, especially his lifelong hobby of raising pigeons.
Above all, Steve was a dedicated and loving husband, father and grandfather who had an amazing love and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Survivors: Loving wife of 49 years, Sandy Walker Barnhart; son, Jayson Barnhart and wife, D'Lynn; daughter, Missy Barnhart-Marshall and husband, Rob; grandchildren, Emma Barnhart, Jack Barnhart, Drew Barnhart, Walker Marshall and Morgan Marshall; brothers, Mike Barnhart and wife, Vickie, and Pat Barnhart and wife, Brenda; mother-in-law, Jacqueline Walker; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members.
