Steve Carrillo

Steve Carrillo, 53, passed away on Thursday December 26, 2019 in Grapevine, Texas.
Family and Friends will come together and celebrate his life on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst, Tx. Family welcomes friends from 5-7 p.m. at Lucas on Monday.
Steve was born in Ennis, Tx on June 1, 1966 to Mike and Lois (Martinez) Carrillo. He grew up in Ennis surrounded by a loving family. A family that unconditionally opened their hearts and arms when Steve married Amy Hawkins on June 28, 1986 in Decatur, Tx.
Steve spent the last 8 years building an independent Insurance Agency. He put his values in life into his business and created a place where he was helping others with his open and honest heart.
Those left behind to remember and cherish Steve’s memory are his wife of over thirty-three years Amy Carrillo of Ft Worth; his daughter, Samantha Jones and husband Ricky of Saginaw; his son, Joseph Carrillo and wife Stephanie of Ft Worth; his grandchildren, Gavin and Cainen Jones; Loving parents Mike and Lois Carrillo of Hurst; Brothers, Richard Carrillo and wife Monica of Ft Worth and Michael Carrillo and wife Martha of Decatur; Sisters, Celia Carrillo of Haltom City and Gabby Perez and husband Raul of Farmers Branch. Steve also left behind many nieces and nephews that he was so very proud of as well as a host of extended family and friends.
Steve embraced family and believed it was truly a circle of strength and love. From childhood to adulthood he enjoyed life. He wanted laughter and joy. Steve was a proud and kind man. He saw the good in people. Steve loved so many things and loved learning and hearing about new things. Cars, music, sports, news, yardwork, gardening, woodworking are just a few of them. He wanted the windows and curtains open he wanted fresh air and sunshine on his face.
In memory of Steve plant a wildflower garden and watch it come to life, talk to each other, hug each other, help each other. Enjoy life and embrace the time we have left.
To Steve – we love you with all our hearts. We were blessed with the time you spent with us. We will cherish you and spread your love. Please be at peace now and know we will be ok. Until we see you again – we love you.
