Steven Anthony Buckner

Dr. Steven Anthony Buckner of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away early Tuesday, November 29, 2022. Born in Columbus, Ohio and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee; Steven was one of 9 children through Flossie McGinnis Lyons and one of 4 through Iris Brown.

Dr. Buckner is survived by his wife, Stephanie Buckner, son, Iris Buckner and daughter, Brianna Buckner Wormley, her husband, Jordan Wormley and their children. As well, his siblings, Michael, Lincoln, Lawrence, William, George, Joan, and Willetta.

Steve, a dedicated family man passionate about his career and furthering his education, retired from UPS with 25 years of service and FAA with 18 years. Achieving his Ph.D. from Northcentral University in 2014, he continued to serve as an associate professor at his undergraduate alumni, Embry Riddle University. Steven will be remembered for his tenacity and determination to further himself, accomplishing all of his goals with his time here. His soul will live on through his family and friends who love him dearly.

Funeral services will take place at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller, TX, December 10th at 2 pm. Graveside services will be held at Berry Highland South Cemetery in Knoxville, TN, December 14th at 1 pm.
