Stuart Duane Bowers
September 8, 1941 — July 11, 2016
Stuart Duane Bowers, 75, passed away peacefully Monday, July 11 at home in his favorite chair with his loving wife, in Keller, TX.
Stuart graduated from Walter P. Chrysler Memorial High School in New Castle, IN. He received his B.S. Degree in Education from New Mexico Western University and a M.A. with an Administrative Credential from Ball State University. Stuart was an elementary teacher for New Castle Schools and completed his 37 year career of teaching in Anaheim, CA.
Stuart is survived by his caring wife of 48 years, Joan, his daughter Kristen Hatch, son-in-law Jonathan Hatch and his four wonderful grandsons: Hunter, Caeden, Brogan, and Sawyer who will miss their Papa very much.
Stuart was born in Indianapolis, Indiana September 8, 1941 to Vernon and Lucille Bowers formerly of New Castle, IN. Stuart was the oldest of eight siblings and is survived by Michael, Thomas, Mary Elizabeth, Douglas, and Timothy. He was preceded in death by both his parents, and his brothers Henry-David, and Dr. Lynn Bowers
Stuart was an avid sports enthusiast and enjoyed all aspects of life related to family and fun. He was strong in his faith, had the gift of conversation and never met a stranger.
The family wishes to thank all the medical personnel who provided such good care to him these last few years.
Funeral Mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church July 18th at 11:00 AM CST in Keller, TX. Funeral services are being provided by Lucas Funeral Home in Keller, TX (817)753-6800
In lieu of flowers, the family asks to consider a donation to the American Diabetes Association.
