Susan Baker

Susan Yvonne Baker, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on February21, 2025, at the age of 77. 

Born on June 11, 1947, in Sullivan, Missouri, she was the daughter of Lucille and Tommy Powell. Susan lived a life rich in love and family. She was preceded in death by her partner, Paul Wright, her sister, Jeanne Brown, and her beloved parents. 

She is survived by her proud son, Tag Ridings, and his wife Brenda. Susan was a doting grandmother to her three cherished grandchildren, Carter, Chloe, and Charli. Her affection for them was immeasurable, and she felt blessed to watch them grow. In addition to her immediate family, Susan is survived by her sister, Robin Burkemper, and her husband Ken, who were her steadfast support throughout her life. Together they shared countless memories that will be cherished for years to come. 

Susan loved the outdoors, especially the beach, camping, and some canoeing on weekends. She was a very competitive person, excelled in billiards and was difficult to beat in many games including darts, Wahoo, dominoes, Yahtzee and card games.

Susan worked for 17 yrs in American Airlines Sabre computer systems and for 20 yrs at Aetna insurance. 

A rosary to honor Susan will be held on February 26, 2025, at 6:00 PM at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller, TX. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the mark she left on all our hearts. Though she is no longer with us, Susan’s spirit will continue to shine brightly through her family and friends, a testament to a life well-lived and deeply loved. She will be profoundly missed but never forgotten. May she rest in peace.
