Susan Virginia Nance died on October 27, 2017 after a brief illness. She was born on January 6, 1961 in Columbus, Ohio. Susie, as her friends and family knew her, was preceded in death by her mother, Viola J. Gilmore. She is survived by her husband, Donald Lynn Nance, her father, Robert Gilmore and his wife, Sandy, her older brother Bob Gilmore and his wife, Sonya, and younger brother, Chris and his wife, Cindy.
Susie graduated from Western Hills High School in Fort Worth in 1979. She worked several jobs throughout the years, but she had two favorites, driving an 18-wheeler with her brother and working as a skip tracer. After she married Donny, he obtained his commercial driver's license and the two newly-weds hit the road in a big rig. They drove all over the United States together seeing many sights and logging thousands of miles. Susie drove over one million miles without ever having an accident. Their travels together on the open road lasted for ten years.
After that, Susie became a skip tracer and worked in that career until she became ill and had to spend a lot of time seeing her doctors. She loved both jobs and the people she worked with as well.
Susie loved TV. Her favorite programs were those that involved animals and cooking. She prepared some very interesting meals for herself and Donny, who was often sent to the grocery store with an unusual shopping list. Susie was also a sports fan and a huge fan of the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys.
Anyone who came in contact with Susie realized quickly that she had a talent for making people laugh. She loved life and people. She had a wonderful laugh that filled a room with joy. She was a loving and caring person, who was always there for people in their time of need.
She will be missed by everyone, especially her husband Donny. He knows that she is now with God and her mother. "Be at peace, my love, until we are reunited."
