Susan Moore Vecchio, 79, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born on May 22, 1945, in Tyler, Texas, she was the daughter of Bertie Neal Grissett and Paul John Moore. Susan grew up in San Antonio, Texas where her deep love for faith and family became the foundation of her life and lasting legacy
While studying fine arts at the University of Houston, Susan met Robert Franklin Vecchio of Cleveland, Ohio. The couple married in San Antonio and soon made Arlington, Texas their home. Susan pursued a successful career as an interior designer and had a passion for painting in her spare time.
After starting their family, she transitioned into a full-time homemaker, wholeheartedly devoting herself to her children. Susan also loved the mountains of New Mexico, where she spent many summers at her beloved cabin with family and friends.
Susan is survived by her three children: Allen Vecchio, Patricia Steely (Wes), and Joel Vecchio (Meghan). She was a devoted grandmother to her six grandchildren: Noah, Audrey, Trevor, Benjamin, Elijah, and William, all of whom held a special place in her heart. Additionally, Susan is survived by her sister Patricia Murray of San Antonio, Texas, her brother Paul Moore (Pam) of Chapin, South Carolina, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws who cherished her.
She's preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert Vecchio; her parents Neal and Paul Moore; and her brother Andrew Moore.
Susan's legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to family and friends will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
