Tavake John Haupeakui was born in Tonga to his father Daniel and mother Vaisioa. His parents both of religious faith and father being a Methodist minister brought Tavake and his other brother Charles, John, Ray and his sisters Meili and Mary to the United States. There they settled in San Mateo, California. Tavake was 8 years old.

Tavake was a good friend, good student and great at sports, he love life. He laughed a lot and enjoyed taking care of his nieces and nephews. He was a gentle religious man who enjoyed reading comic books and watching the 49ers.
As a an adult he began working for Air Cal and in 1987 started with American Airlines. Everyone enjoyed him he was a kind coworker who worked extremely hard at his job.

He met the love of his life Sandra Elder who also worked for American.
It was love at first sight. He never looked back. They fell in love. Tavake and Sandra Elder, married in California in 1987. Later after transferring to Texas they had 2 children. Tavake was a loving father to a daughter named Summer Ashley Haupeakui and 8 years later a son named Michael Kamal Haupeakui.
He loved both his children involving himself in their sports and activities.
A strong father who past on his strong morals of kindness, love, religion and work ethic to both of his children.
Tavake will be missed by many and especially by his wife and children.
Graveside Services will be held at Grapevine Cemetery, Friday, October 16th at 2 pm. A live stream of his service can be seen here: https://video.ibm.com/channel/tmab4jDHmbG

A visitation will be held for friends and family at Lucas Funeral Home Grapevine Thursday 3-6pm.
