Terry Marini, a generous and giving soul, was born on July 12, 1955 in Pasadena, Texas. He passed away suddenly, early in the morning on September 4, 2019.
Terry grew up in Pasadena loving baseball and his Chihuahua José. He attended Saint Pius Catholic School through the 8th grade then experienced a cathartic moment when changing to public school at Pasadena High School. Following graduation, he attended Sam Houston State University, ultimately receiving a business degree. His passions were baseball, golf and racquetball.
Terry began his professional career managing health clubs and tanning salons. Following that endeavor, Terry joined Home Depot where he spent 17 years helping contractors with commercial building supplies. All that hard work at Home Depot took a toll on Terry’s back. So, Terry left Home Depot and began his third and final job at the Golf Club at Fossil Creek. He truly loved being a Marshall at the club and getting to spend time out in nature daily. He even befriended and named various squirrels who shared the course with him.
Terry was full of life. He and his wife Carrie were each other’s ying to the others yang; i.e. they were simpatico! This September 19th would have been Terry and Carrie’s 21st wedding anniversary. They wed at the Ranch of Lonesome Dove in Grapevine, Texas. Terry’s daughters, Courtney and Meredith from Terry’s first marriage, both participated in the wedding. Then later a beloved son joined the union when Ryan was born, who shared his sister Meredith’s birthday.
He loved his three children more than life itself and his granddaughter Kayela, aka “Precious,” had him completely wrapped around her finger.
Terry would have lifted the world off its axis for Carrie. He loved surprises and every Christmas after all the gifts were open he always had the last hoorah entering the room with a final gift.
Terry spent money as an act of love meant to show his wife, family and friends a good time taking them on vacations, to concerts etc. Terry lived to give to others he loved.
Terry was proceeded in death by his parents Gerard and Billie Jean Marini. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Carrie, his daughter Courtney and her fiancé Jonathan, his daughter Meredith, her boyfriend Casey, his son Ryan, his Granddaughter Kayela, his brother Mark and countless other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Exemplifying Terry’s giving nature was his final act of donating his body to the willed body program at UNT Health Science Center in Fort Worth, Texas.
A Memorial Service will be held to honor Terry’s life on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 2:00pm. Location is Paradise Cove at Lake Grapevine, 3029 Midway Rd, Southlake, TX 76092
