Terry Lynn McCallie was born December 5, 1948 in Blythe , California. He grew up in Oklahoma City where he was lovingly raised by his Grandparents.
He graduated from Classen High School in Oklahoma City where he enjoyed being the Drum Major in 1967, his senior year.
At the age of 18 he was drafted into the Army at the height of the Vietnam war. By sheer luck he was deployed to Germany instead of Vietnam for the duration of the war and he was honorably discharged after serving his time “1 year, 11 months and 26 days”. He got numerous medals during his service time but was very proud to receive the medal for “Sharp Shooter” and “The National Defense Service Medal”.
Terry became a car salesman when he was 20 yrs old. He was a born salesman and had great success in the car business for 40 yrs. He loved his job so much and always said he never considered it “work”. He truly was a master at the art of negotiation!
Terry was a man that loved life! He loved convertibles, loved to travel, loved to eat good food and socialize with friends, he loved to watch his favorite teams “ The Cowboys and OU”, and he loved being the Captain of his own boat. He was happiest when he was planning his next outing or adventure.
He always had so many funny stories to tell and we all shared lots of laughter when in his presence. We will miss his big smile and the twinkle in his eyes.
He was kind hearted and generous to a fault and always a champion of the underdog.
He is survived by his Loving Companion Sally Ward, by his cherished son Jason McCallie, Jason’s wife Heather and their children Parker, Finley and Ella, by his former wife and good friend Vickie McCallie and by many, many good friends.
A celebration of life will be Friday, September 7th at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller, Texas.
