Terry Mcmillin

Terry Wilton McMillin passed away Monday, June 24, 2013 due to complications from diabetes with loved ones at his side. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Susan Spell McMillin; one son, Doug McMillin (wife Lynn), two daughters, Jill Albritton (husband James), Beth Ashcraft (husband Keith); and four grandchildren, Sara Albritton, Aaron Albritton, Jared Ashcraft, and Juliet Ashcraft. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2013, at 10 am at The Mount in Keller, Texas. Terry was the first son of Governor Wilton McMillin and Lottie Irene Gardner McMillin. He was born September 21,1940, at his parent's home in Sulphur, LA. He grew up in Sulphur, graduated from Sulphur High School, attended Louisiana College and was in the Marine Reserves. He was a member of First Baptist Sulphur, LA where he served as a deacon for many years. He was instrumental in creating the Widow's Ministry, initially sending cards and delivering birthday roses. He volunteered at the annual widow's banquet, and he served in Preschool, Youth, and other leadership. He loved to hunt and fish, enjoying Louisiana wildlife. He also loved sports and played baseball, football and ran track. He and his wife moved to Keller, TX in July of 2010. They attended The Mount in Keller, Texas.
