Terry Wayne Neal

Terry Wayne Neal of Burleson, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2023, surrounded by his wife and four children at his home of 42 years.

Terry was born on July 8, 1949, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Melvin Morris Neal and Doris Hooker Neal. He was the second child of four. They lived in several states in his early years finally settling in Waxahachie, Texas, when was ten years old. He graduated from Waxahachie High School then attended the University of Texas at Arlington. He married his high school sweetheart, Debbi Lumpkins, and they were blessed with four children, three girls and a boy that they raised in Burleson, Texas.

For more than thirty years, Terry worked at Kinro, Inc., where he was Vice President of Purchasing. Through his career he made many lifelong friends. He traveled the world, but his heart was always at home with his family. When returning, he always padded his suitcases with sweet surprises for the kids. Terry loved the outdoors. He spent a lot of time hunting at the deer lease, fishing in Canada, playing golf with his buddies and taking care of his well-manicured lawn.

Terry’s greatest treasure was his family. He loved being a husband and dad, but he blossomed when he was promoted to G-Daddy. His children and grandkids adored him. From jeep rides to donut runs to Putt-Putt to family vacations- he always found ways to bring fun to the family.

During his fight with cancer, Terry’s heart softened, and his life was transformed. God was faithful to answer the prayers prayed throughout the years for him to come to know Jesus.

He is survived by his loving wife, Debbi, of 52 years; his children: Kellie Pruscha of Burleson, Becca O’Neal and husband Larry of Burleson, Bo Neal and wife Rachel of Calgary, Alberta, Amy Johnson and husband Chris of San Antonio; and grandchildren: Calman Pruscha; Maddie, Riley and Embry O’Neal; Theron, Lenore and Barrett Neal; Avery, Ellie and Juliet Johnson; his siblings: Larry Neal and wife Carol of Houston, Debbie Warren and husband Joe of Marlow, OK, and Jeff Neal and wife Sherry of Quinlan, TX. He was proceeded in death by his parents and grandson Jackson Eli O’Neal.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on October 20, 2023, at 3:00 at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Burleson, TX. Visitation will be held before the service at 1:00 in the Chapel at Oak Grove Baptist. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Oak Grove Baptist Church, Journey Hospice, or Canadian Baptist Theological Seminary and College.
