Thawon Towong, 76 of Bedford, passed away surrounded by his loving family, Saturday, April 5, 2025 at his residence. He was born in Thailand, November 18, 1948 to the late Sawang and Thongpun Towong.
Thawon, also known as “Kai”, led a very interesting and successful life. In his younger years, he was privileged to be selected to the prestigious Guard to King Rama 9 of Thailand. He also loved to race cars. Thawon met and married the love of his life in Thailand, Supavadee Canfield, and they were married on March 27, 1979, spending 46 years together. Thawon and Supavadee came to the United States to raise their family. They owned and operated multiple Thai Basil Restaurants in the DFW area. Thawon loved to eat and cook the food from back home and was a very talented Chef. He also enjoyed mountain biking, going on road trips and traveling. Thawon will be missed by all who knew him and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Supavadee Canfield; his daughter, Chalita Towong; his sons, Khunnatham Chamnarnsripetch, and Nuttasarunphut Supharat.
Services to celebrate his life will be held at the Lucas Funeral Home Chapel, Hurst at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2025, with a visitation and a reception beginning at 1:00 p.m.
