HURST -- Theodore "Ted" Christian Goedecke, 89, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2013.
Funeral: 3:30 p.m. Friday at Peace Lutheran Church in Hurst. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road in Hurst.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Young, Stephen Young, John Goedecke, Larry Goedecke, Robert Harris and David Schmidt. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Peters, Laird Boltz, Bob Sheegog, Charles Stephens and Emmit Koelle.
Ted was born Jan. 31, 1924, in Broken Arrow, Okla., to John H. Goedecke and Emilie Mueller Goedecke. He married Marie Winter Goedecke in Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church on April 6, 1947, in Adair, Okla.
Ted was a charter member of Peace Lutheran Church in Hurst where he held many offices, as an elder, and served as youth group counselor for eight years and was a member of Peace Life Fellowship Group.
He worked as a plant manager at Anchor Metals in Hurst and for Peace Lutheran Church.
Ted was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Marie; his parents; brothers, Alvin Goedecke, Bill Goedecke and Norbert Goedecke; and sisters, Emilie Krueger and Pauline Thomas.
Survivors: Son, Charles Goedecke and wife, Beth; daughter, Priscilla Young and husband, Judge Everett Young; grandsons, Michael Goedecke and wife, Veronica, John Goedecke, Phillip Young, and Stephen Young; granddaughters, Michelle Young Benavidez and Jennifer Young; seven great-grandchildren; and brothers, John Goedecke and Martin Goedecke.
