Theressa Johnnett Hertel

Theressa Johnnett Hertel, 50, of Burleson, TX passed away on August 16, 2024 at her home. 

She was born October 31, 1973, in Fort Worth, TX and grew up around Tarrant County.

She married Steve Hertel on June 29, 1991 and they had one son, Shawn, on January 8, 1994. They moved to Burleson in 2000, and in June of 2008 she began working for Burleson ISD.

Theressa was an avid reader, loved travelling, and experience new things. Halloween was not only her birthday, but her favorite holiday. Her grandmother even used to refer to her as her “little witch”. 

Probably her most favorite thing was being “Mimi” to her granddaughter, Diana. Family was very important to her. That didn’t just mean her blood family, it was also her close friends and anyone else lucky enough to be invited.

She had a great impact on many people and will be missed terribly.

Theressa is survived by her husband, Steve Hertel, her son Shawn Hertel and his wife Kasey, and granddaughter, Diana, her father and mother, Bob and Mary Clark, her mother in law, Carol Hertel, her brother Robert Burchard, and his wife Alicia and niece, Riley, his sister, Valerie Wolf and nephew, Trent Arnett, her sister Dena Walts and niece, Oakley Walts and honorary sister, Stephanie Stevens-Foster and many other family members.
