Thomas (Tommy) Edward Maxwell was born on April 30, 1980, in Bremerton, Washington to Ron and Judy (Doleshel) Maxwell. He passed away peacefully in North Richland Hills, Texas, after a brief illness at the age of 44 on February 23, 2025.

He lived in both Silverdale, Washington and Los Alamitos, California for 3 years and back to Silverdale. He played Pee Wee Soccer and was in Karate while in California. In Washington, he played catcher for several years in Pee Wee Baseball. He was on the football and wrestling team at Ridgetop Junior High School. He wrestled on the Central Kitsap High School team and was the 135-pound Olympic League District Champion in his senior year. He went to Clear Creek Elementary School, Ridgetop Junior High School, and Central Kitsap High School, graduating in 1998.

After graduation, Tommy joined the United States Army and went into the 82nd Airborne unit at Fort Benning, Georgia. He parachute-jumped in Africa and Europe, was deployed to Kuwait, and was also a Combat Instructor. He earned the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal with 2 awards, National Defense Service Medal, Expert Infantryman, and Parachute badges. He earned the rank of Sergeant and was honorably discharged in September 2002.

Tommy rekindled a relationship with Amanda Pugh who he had known since junior high. Amanda and her son Jeremie (JJ) then followed him to Texas in 2018.

Tom started working at Southwest Sales in Dallas, Texas where his best friend Jeremy Whitehead works. They have been friends their entire lives. Tom worked in the warehouse for the past three years. He loved his job and even named his forklift Dolores! He also loved working out at the company property and had hoped one day to be the manager there.

Tom was the life of the party and had a fun-loving attitude. The Bob Marley song lyrics (Three Little Birds), “Don’t worry about a thing, ‘cause every little thing gonna be alright” was truly what he believed and fit him to a tee. He was funny, told jokes, and just gave hugs when you needed them. He loved family, friends, and his dog Charlie.

He is survived by his parents, Ron and Judy Maxwell; the love of his life, Amanda Pugh and JJ Sandbeck (who he considered to be his son); his loving sisters: Mary Lumadue and Jenny Dellert; Jeremy, Ikeesha, Elijah and Frankie Whitehead; Joyce Tibbs his 2nd Mom; Amanda’s parents Larry and Tami Pugh, and his dog Charlie who he loved so very much. He had 8 nieces and nephews: Isabelle Lumadue, fiancé Christian Campbell, and great-niece Violet Campbell, Calvin Lumadue; Caitlin Dellert, Brianna Dellert; Jayden Ranes, Trinity Ranes, Paisley Ranes, and Tucker Ranes; brothers-in-law Chuck Lumadue and Josh Ranes; Aunt Arlene Maxwell; Uncle Mike Doleshel; and other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his Aunt Barb Doleshel; Uncles Gary Maxwell, Edward Maxwell, and Great Uncles Ray, Bernard, and Frank Doleshel; and his grandparents: Edward and Sophie Maxwell, and Robert and Frances Doleshel.
