Thomas Harold Ogden, age 76, of Flower Mound, TX passed away peacefully Thursday, August 3, 2023 after an extended illness. He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Marguerite Ogden and his father-in-law and mother-in-law Jay and Dora Andrews.
He is survived by his loving spouse of 56 years, Nancy Ogden; two sons and daughters-in law Richard and Sandra Ogden, Ryan and Susan Ogden; and grandchildren, Brian and Claire Ogden, Eliana Ogden, Eden Ogden, and Lydia Ogden.
Mr. Ogden graduated from Miami Central High School in 1965. He served as a police officer in North Miami Beach, before enlisting in the United States Air Force, and then was commissioned an officer in the United States Navy. As a designated Naval Aviator and an accomplished attack pilot, flying all models of the A-7 Corsair II aircraft, he served in squadron deployments to the pacific theatre and as an instructor in the A-7 aircraft in Jacksonville, Florida.
After completing his deployed and shore-based active duty tours, he continued his aviation career as a commercial airline pilot for Eastern Airlines. At Eastern, he flew B-727 aircraft, and continued to serve in the Navy Reserves until 1989, when he retired as a Commander. In 1989, he became a pilot for Federal Express where he flew several models of cargo aircraft until medical issues forced him to retire.
He enjoyed time with his family and the blessings of watching his grandchildren in all their activities. He was a fan of the Atlanta Braves, instilling a love of baseball to all his grandchildren.
A celebration of life and interment will be held at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery on August 24, promptly at 10:00 am – please arrive by 9:45 am. After the interment, the family will receive visitors from noon – 2:00 pm at the Trailwood Amenity Center, 4901 Panorama Trail, Roanoke, TX 76262.

St. Jude's Children's Hospital
in Thomas' name.
