Thomas Denton Spencer was born on October 27, 1931 in Bokchito, Oklahoma to the late Daisy L. Denton Spencer and Herman W. Spencer. He passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at home in Burleson, Texas at the age of 90 years old.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. After his time serving his country, Thomas came home and married the love of his life, Louise and they had three children. Thomas and Louise loved to go out dancing where they stayed on the dance floor. Thomas was a member of the American Legion.
Thomas was a devoted and very loving husband, father, Papa and Great Papa. He loved his life and he loved the Lord. He was preceded in death and his beloved wife of 67 years, Louise (Gainer) Spencer; by his parents, Daisy and Herman Spencer; and sister, Helen Barker.
He is survived by his adoring children, sons, Randy Spencer and Steve Spencer both of Burleson, Texas; daughter, Cathy Hornbeck and husband, Brian of Alvarado; beloved grandchildren, Jason Spencer, Dustin Spencer and wife, Jillian, Justin Hornbeck and wife, Jordan, Krysta Irwinsky and husband, Clinton, Taylor Spencer, Kaytlynn Hornbeck and fiancé, Dylan Reschke, Hayley Spencer and fiancé, Chris Pytel, and Gage Spencer; precious great-grandchildren, Jadyn, Camryn, Dani, T.J., Cooper, Lily, Rylan, Kiran, Gunnar, Cade, Hagen, Averi, Lexxa, Asher, Athena, and Baby Coulter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M., Sunday, September 11, 2022 at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, September, 12, 2022 also at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst followed by interment at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville.
