Flower Mound – Thomas William Stang, 56 years old, passed away Saturday, March 4th, 2017. His funeral is being held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday March 9th at St. Francis of Assisi in Grapevine, TX. Visitation is 6-8 p.m., Wednesday evening at Lucas Funeral Home, Grapevine, TX.

Tom was born 12/28/1960, in Cleveland, OH to William Franklin Stange and Mary Helen Stange. He attended St. Marks High School and then proceeded to attend and graduate from Ohio University. He moved to Dallas, TX where he met and in 1989 married Michelle Marie Derbes. He was a loving father to their three beautiful children and a devoted husband for 28 years. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and passionately volunteered in many different aspects of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic church. He truly had a green thumb and a passion for planting things, wood-working, repairing anything that was broken, and providing help to anyone in need.
Tom was preceded in death by his oldest brother Richard Louis Stange, and his father William Franklin Stange. He was survived by his mother Mary Helen Stange, his older brother Robert Henry Stange, and two sisters Elizabeth Ann Stange and Theresa Marie McIntyre, his wife Michelle Marie Stang, his children Brandon Richard Stang, Stephanie Kendel Stang, Michael Thomas Stang and numerous loving friends.
His love, strength, and desire to help others will continue to inspire others for years to come. He was “Like a Rock.”
