Thomas Charles Syrotchen Jr, age 49, passed away in a car accident in Saginaw, Texas on Saturday, July 20, 2019.
Funeral: 10:30 am Friday, August 9, 2019 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. (Lane 3)
Tom was born in Portland, Oregon to Thomas Syrotchen, Sr. and Valerie Mae Look. Tom (Tommy as he was lovingly known by his family) and his younger sister, Tonya, grew up in Everett, Washington along with both sides of their loving families. He was an athlete and a great student, especially in math and science. After high school, Tom enlisted in the United States Air Force. He soon was accepted in the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado and graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1995. He served his country faithfully as a Navigator on the AWAC, attaining the rank of Captain. He left the military soon after marrying and soon started a family. Tom was a dedicated family man who worked tirelessly to provide a good home. He was never idle, if he wasn’t working on engineering projects, he was building furniture for his home, helping neighbors with wood working projects, big and small, and always making time for his family. He loved learning and teaching himself new skills from tiling a bathroom to rebuilding an engine. He was often stretched thin, but you would never know it. He was always there to answer the call from those in need. We loved him dearly and trusted him implicitly and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Tom is survived and mourned by his mother, Valerie Mae Look, his sister Tonya Neisinger, brother-in-law, Scott, his wife, Sarah, daughter Raquel age 14, and son David age 11.
We are broken hearted at his passing. He leaves behind so many wonderful memories to cherish. He was our rock, he was funny, he loved a good debate, he loved watching his projects go from the drawing board to reality, and never stopped being the man I was glad to call my husband. I love you, Tom.
