Thomas W. Tackett, 73, passed away on October 4, 2024. Born to Thomas J. and Mary (Tighe) Tackett on May 29, 1951, and raised in Hartford, CT. Attended Our Lady of Sorrows School and Bulkeley High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1970 and was very proud of his service.

In a previous marriage Tom had 3 boys, Charles, Richard and Michael.

Tom then married the love of his life Diane Slamons of Granby, CT on April 17, 1977, together they had 2 children, Jessica Sue (Tackett) Cook and Jamison Ray Tackett. 

He enjoyed various jobs in the Aerospace industry where he worked for 21 years for Har-Conn Chrome Co in 3 locations being West Hartford, CT, moved to Columbus, GA and then moved to Fort Worth, TX. Tom then went to work for Bell Helicopter a division of Textron where he worked for 15 years before retiring in 2013.

Besides his wife and children, Tom leaves two sisters, Ann Fitch and her husband Clyde and Maureen Bialosuknia and two brothers, James (Jim) Tackett and Gerald (Jerry) Tackett and his wife Josie, a brother-in-law George Showman, a son-in-law Jeremy Cook and a daughter-in-law Jessica (Conrad) Tackett. Tom was predeceased by 2 sisters Barbara Meyers and Frances Showman and a brother-in-law Wesley Bialosuknia. Tom also leaves 16 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. 

Tom enjoyed playing pool with friends and family, listening to just about any kind of music, watching sports especially the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers and the UCONN Huskies, interacting with his grandchildren but especially Tom enjoyed his Irish heritage.
