In loving memory of Thomas Leon Wicker Sr. (Tom, Big T) who passed away on
February 16, 2023, at the age 80 in Hurst Tx.
One of the kindest souls on this planet, Tom was a gentle, giving man who worked
tirelessly to ensure that his family had everything they needed. He faced every
challenge in life with admirable strength and courage.
Tom retired from Washington Mutual after 40 years in finance and then began
exciting times of volunteering at the Hurst Police Department and working security at
Texas Motor Speedway. Grapevine Faith Christian school brought him onboard as the perfect
bus driver and he enjoyed every minute spending time with the students on field trips
and special events. On any given Sunday he loved to watch or attend NASCAR races.
You could also find him playing a good card game on Tuesdays with Elaine and his
friends.
But fishing was his greatest passion, and he passes those skills down to his children
and grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time at the lake house relaxing and we will
cherish those memories forever.
Tom was a man of strong faith and he taught us the importance of family, hard work
and doing what is right.
Tom is survived by his wife Elaine. Loving father of son Thomas Jr Wicker (Tommy)
and his wife Angela and daughter Lorissa Holder (Lori) and her husband Rodney. His
sister Patricia Lewner. Devoted grandfather of Christopher Wicker and his wife
Lauren, Heather Wicker and her boyfriend Conner, Madison Denby and her husband
Jakob, Allyson Holder, and Makenzie Holder. Awesome great-grandfather of
Makynlee, Olivia, Beckham, and Blakelee. He is also survived by many, many nieces,
and nephews.
A Celebration of life will be held at Gateway Church (North Richland Hills Campus) on
Thursday, March 2nd at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be mailed to the
HCPAAA, 825A Thousand Oaks Dr. Hurst, Tx 76054.
Tom will be truly missed but will forever be in our hearts.
