Troy Lee Evans

Troy Lee Evans, age 97, was born September 18, 1924 in McKinney Texas and passed away June 28, 2022 in Fort Worth Texas. He was born to Willie Edna Vermillion and William Elbert Evans.

Troy attended Stiff Chapel School near Altoga. In his childhood he finished chores early to go play baseball at the local military base sometimes until 3 in the morning. He served his country proudly in the United States Army. He was in the military in Kobe Japan and played baseball and continued playing locally in a D league in Granbury. He played in a senior league until he was age 72. In 1950 he married the love of his life Mildred Mitchell and they started their life together. In 1962 they moved their family from Fort Worth to Keller he resided there until moving 1998. He worked for Western Electric wiring all the tiny telephone offices through out Texas. Western Electric became part of ATT. Troy worked for Southwestern Bell and eventually Southwestern Bell became ATT again he made a career of 35 years retiring in 1984 as a switchman. He enjoyed the great outdoors hunting and fishing in any county in Texas but especially in Palo Pinto and Collin counties. He enjoyed spending time with cherished family and friends.

He is survived by his son, Alfred Evans and his wife Nancy; daughter, Bonnie West and her husband Charles; grandchildren, Daniel Evans and his wife Laura, Timothy Evans and his wife Diane, Charles T. West and Elena West; great grandchildren, Charlyne Evans, Brooklyn Evans, Erica Porter, Abby Evans, Brett West and Taz West; great great grandchildren, Ramero West, Harmony West, Jasper West and Sofia Audis; brother, Bob Evans and his wife Patsy and a host of nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Evans; wife, Mildred Evans; brothers, Royse, Cleo, Cotton, Wayne, Paul, Pleas, Jack, Billy and Gene Evans and sisters, Louise Raley and Ruby Hathcock..

Visitation will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm, Thursday, July 7, 2022 at Lucas Funeral Home, 1601 South Main Street, Keller, Texas 76248. Funeral Service will be held at 2 pm, Friday, July 8, 2022 at First Baptist Church, 225 Keller Parkway, Keller, Texas 76248.
